In a time before the mists and a land far from the Realm, known as Tera Australis.
Jaq was a Corporal in the first company of the Crimson Fist Army. During the great Ork - Human wars. The army was betrayed by its best captain, Captain Heldar. Jaq accidently discovered the plot and after a long and furious battle Jaq defeated Heldar. He was mortaly wounded and unable to warn the army which was ambushed by the orcs and totaly destroyed.
Jaq was discovered by the elves close to death. The elves knew of only one way to give him his life back and that was to send him to a magical land know as the Realm where nobody could die. Jaq could barely comprehend what they where saying but he agreed. Through the use of their magic Jaq was transported to the Realm.
When he awoke he found himself in a house, and after venturing outside found a strange land. This land only had two towns Kurz and Leinster, and the lands outside these towns where being ravaged by monsters. He also found that on the edge of these lands was a strange mist, which was impentrable to man, but it seemed to be where the monsters where coming from. He also found he had lost all his skills, which was probably a side effect of the elves spell. He decided that the best way to settle into his new home would be to help the people fight the monsters. To do that he had to learn how to fight all over again. He practised on the giant rats outside Leinster until he was proficient enough to take on the ogres he also found he had a little bit of a knack for the magic stuff, and found it to be very helpful in battle.
One day while hunting in a place called Bloodwood, he heard a cry for help, and after turning the corner he saw a women fighting an Ogre twice her size. He imediatly jumped into help, and after a long tiring fight they both defeated the ugly Ogre. After the fight they both collapsed on the grass unable to move from exhaustion. Jaq found out her name was Lujayne and she had been in the Realm for about a year, and still had trouble fighting the many monsters here. They became fast friends and decided to team up and help each other out. Jaq found that apart from teaching her about fighting he was learning as much from her, especially about magic.
Many months past, and Jaq and Lujayne had many adventures together. He also found he had deep feelings for Lujayne. He vowed that he would protect her for the rest of his life. They met many new friends in there travels. There are no armies in the realm, at least not like he rembered the Crimson Fists, but there is guilds so he joined The Long Fangs Guild. It was about this time that the mists cleared, he remembers waking up one day and looking out the window, and not seeing the white cloud he had grown accustomed too. He also felt a lot weaker, and could not find his trusty sword and armour instead he found a rusty old sword and a shaby grey set of armour. When he walked out into the street he found he was in another town and everyone he met was wearing the same set of armour and after talking to them they also felt a lot weaker. There was no explanation for this, but that it might have been a side effect of removing the mists. He also found that as there had only been humans before many giants and elves had arrived in the Realm either by choice or mystery. He imediatly went and found Lujayne and she also said she felt a lot weaker. He went back to Leinster and found that most of the town had been destroyed, after asking the shop keepers he was told that two gods had been fighting over what no one really knew, but it appears to be something to do with the lifting of the mists. A stray bolt had hit the town and nearly destroyed it.
Jaq went looking for his guild The Long Fangs to see if they could answer the many questions he had, but he could not find them and it seems they did not make it through the mists, as did a lot of his old friends. They may have been killed by the two Gods fighting. He did find that there were many new towns in the Realm which couldn't be accessed before, also that the monsters homes where revealed as most of them seem to live underground.
He found another guild to join that was, in a lot of ways better then the Long Fangs. He joined The Knights of Honour. He started to meet people from his home world of Terra Australis and found out how they came to be here. There seems to be no way out of the Realm, but it does not bother him, as there are many people here who need help and he has made many new friends, and the most important being Lujayne, so maybe this is as good a place as any to call home.
